About Us

Director's Welcome

Dear Parents,

The vision of Rapale International School is to nurture young people to think, speak and act from a God saturated world view. Each day as I watch children arrive at school, I am reminded of the awesome privilege we have of moulding and shaping these lives. Walking around and listening to the chatter of children and teachers one can often hear scriptures from God’s word and songs of praise to him. With this as a platform, the academic, emotional, social and physical training, children can be prepared to face the challenges of this modern world.

At RIS we aim to provide a safe and happy learning environment where teachers and children can develop wholesome relationships with one another and with their creator God. We trust your child’s journey through RIS will be a long and happy one preparing them for the journey God has planned for them.

School History & Identity

The start of Rapale International School goes back more than 20 years. A few missionaries working for Wycliffe Bible Translators in Mozambique needed a teacher for their children.

Ms Peggy Dancy, a retired teacher from the US came and started a small teaching center named Morning Star. In 1998 this school moved from its original location Pemba to Nampula and gradually more children were accepted. From that moment the need for English Christian education started to grow very fast and it was decided that an independent Board would run the school. In order to plan for the future growth a piece of land was bought 15km outside Nampula and the School was named Rapale International School. Rapale International School started in September 2011.

Statement of Faith

The Bible is the Word of God

We believe that the Bible is inspired and in-errant, that all 66 books of the Old and New Testament are God’s complete written revelation to mankind, the only infallible authority in all matters of faith and practice.

We believe in the Trinity

We believe in one triune God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, the same in substance and equal in power and glory.

We believe in Jesus Christ

We believe in the complete humanity and deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood on the cross, bodily resurrection, ascension to the right hand of the Father, and future personal return in power and glory.

We believe in the Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells and empowers all believers and enables them to live a godly life.

We believe that we are sinners

We believe that through Adam’s sin all have inherited a sinful nature and therefore all choose to sin. All are thus sinners and deserving of death.

We are saved by grace and faith

We believe that salvation of lost and sinful man is only by the grace of God through personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ alone, accomplished through the regeneration by the Holy Spirit.

We believe in forgivness of sins

We believe that our sins block our fellowship with God. As we confess those sins, God forgives us and our fellowship is restored.

We believe in the resurrection

We believe in the resurrection of the body, the judgment of the world by our Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal blessedness of the saved, and the eternal punishment of the lost.

We are one body in Christ

We believe that saving faith in Jesus Christ unites all Christians as members of the body of Christ. Such a position brings both privileges and responsibilities before God and toward one another in the Christian life.
